Gratitude

Grateful eyes look at each thing as if they had never seen it before and caress it as if they would never see it again.

  1. John Greenman/Dad

David Steindl-Rast wrote about an American air raid on his home town in World War 2. After the bombing, he noticed how green the grass was. I have been noticing the color of the leaves on the ground and the tree trunks dappled with lichens yeaterday on a hike in the woods. God’s glory is in all his creation and in each one of us. Sometimes my greatest fear is to let my light shine. I ask myself who I am to be gifted with God’s light? The answer is that I am a child of God, and when I let my light shine, others may be emboldened to shine their lights in the darkness. Love, Dad
